Travel To Southport North Carolina

An interesting place I've come across is the town of Southport North Carolina. Located near where the Cape Fear River meets the Atlantic Ocean, here is a town with southern class and charm. Large trees greet you as you drive into this fishing village. Driving thru the center of town and its side streets you'll find many nice family owned stores and some really nice restaurants. At the waters edge is a nice park, you'll watch boats go by while sitting on a bench or swing. There is also a small very causal fishing pier there. If you’re here for the forth of July, Southport closes its main road for parade and small carnival. Now that is a good time ! If you’d like to spend time at the beach-take the short car ride to Oak Island-it offers a very fine oceanfront beach. After that if you want to take a bit of a different route to Wilmington-try the Southport / Fort Fisher Ferry ride. This fun low cost way to get there, check the local ferry schedule-it does run year round. This will be a highpoint of your stay !
